HOW HEAT MANAGEMENT AND DUAL VALVES WORK
As the lower chamber heats up, rising pressure pushes hot water through the internal guide channels. Before reaching the coffee grounds, the water transfers some of its heat to the surrounding metal, which dissipates it into the air through the cooling structure. The water then passes through the grounds, and the brewed coffee travels up the central column. The outlet pressure valve opens at its operating pressure, releasing coffee into the upper chamber. A separate safety relief valve releases excess pressure if abnormal buildup occurs. This passive heat-management design helps moderate the water temperature before extraction; the actual brewing temperature still depends on the heat source, starting water temperature and surrounding conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
Check both the usable drip-tray area and the clearance below your portafilter spouts. You need enough space for the scale and your cup together. Contact us for the scale’s dimensions before ordering if your machine has a narrow tray or limited cup clearance.
Yes, provided it rests securely on the platform without touching the counter or surrounding objects. Zero the empty portafilter’s weight before adding coffee. Remove it before tamping: tamping pressure and impacts should not be applied to the weighing platform, even with a metal housing.
Compare the scale’s footprint with the usable area of your drip tray, then check the height available for the scale and cup together. The cup must clear the portafilter spouts. Contact us for dimensions before ordering if your machine has limited tray space or cup clearance.
Timers can use different starting points. Timing from pump activation includes the period before espresso reaches the cup, while timing from the first drip does not. Choose one convention and use it consistently when comparing recipes. The scale’s built-in timer helps you record that duration alongside beverage weight.
Place the scale on a level, steady surface and check that the cup or portafilter touches only the weighing platform. Machine vibration can affect readings. Test the same object on a stable countertop with the machine switched off. If the reading still fluctuates, contact us for troubleshooting.
Use a compatible Type-C cable and a USB power source that supplies DC 5V. A Type-C connection alone does not establish compatibility with every charger or fast-charging mode. Keep the charging port dry. Battery runtime depends on usage, so a fixed number of shots per charge is not guaranteed.
Yes. The weighing function and timer also support pour-over brewing, and you can switch between grams and ounces. Make sure the brewing vessel rests securely on the platform. Keep the total load—including the vessel, dripper, coffee, and water—within the selected weighing mode’s capacity.
A metal housing alone does not establish waterproofing. Keep the scale clear of water released when flushing the group head. For cleaning, switch it off, disconnect the charging cable, and wipe gently with a lightly damp cloth. Do not rinse or submerge it.
