The 54mm option is designed for compatible 54mm Breville and Sage-style filter baskets, including many machines in the Bambino and Barista series. Because third-party baskets can vary slightly in rim shape and dimensions, check your basket size before ordering.
The built-in magnetic design helps keep the funnel positioned around the filter basket while you grind, distribute or stir the coffee grounds. The holding strength may vary slightly depending on the material and shape of the basket or portafilter.
Yes. Keeping the dosing funnel in place while using a WDT tool helps contain loose coffee grounds and reduces spills around the edge of the basket. After distribution is complete, remove the funnel before tamping unless your preparation method specifically requires otherwise.
Yes. We recommend removing the dosing funnel before the final tamp. This allows the tamper to sit directly inside the filter basket and helps ensure the coffee puck is compressed evenly without interference from the funnel.
The funnel sits around the upper rim of the basket and is intended to help contain the grounds during dosing and distribution. After WDT or distribution, remove the funnel and gently level the coffee before tamping so loose grounds near the basket wall can be incorporated into the puck.
That depends on the clearance around your grinder’s portafilter holder or dosing area. The funnel increases the height of the portafilter, so check the available space if your grinder has a narrow fork or fixed dosing outlet.
Brush away loose coffee grounds after use, then wipe or rinse the funnel as appropriate. Dry it thoroughly before storage, especially around the magnetic components. Avoid leaving wet coffee residue on the funnel for long periods.
